The artwork is a light and shadow play where the artist simplified the various dimensions with intentionally placed geometric shapes thus maintaining the individual facial expressions of the model. The result is the soft compromise of complementing colours and tones.
The painting is the third piece of the artist’s Marilyn Series. The title is a reflection to Marylin Monroe’s famous song she sang to President John F. Kennedy on May 19, 1962 at a celebration of his 45th birthday. This performance was one of her last ones however also an encouragement to all women fulfilling and never giving up their dreams.
